The Giro d’Italia 2020 was presented! Cervia will wear the pink jersey for the thirteenth stage. On 22 May the Cervia-Monselice stage (190 km) is scheduled. The cyclists will leave Cervia for a course for sprinters and they will head north along the Adriatic highway. They will touch Savio, Classe, Ravenna, Mezzano, Alfonsine, Lavezzola. They go at the end to the province of Ferrara. The site of the Giro thus defines the thirteenth stage: «Stage of the plain with the final with a bang. After almost 160 km in the plain, to reach the Euganean town two challenging climbs of the Euganean Hills are faced. The Roverello Pass, 4 km easy to reach, and then the Muro di Calaone with 2 km that at different points touch 20%. This is followed by a wide descent on Este and a short flat section up to the finish ».

Romagna will be the absolute protagonist of the 103 edition, which foresees an arrival in Rimini on May 20th and the Cesenatico stage on the route of the legendary Nove Colli the following day. “We are working in this direction, and the municipal administration has been working together with the Emilia Romagna Region and the Destination Romagna since the day it took office to make this dream come true – the first citizen said -. The last time the Giro d’Italia arrived in Cervia it was during my mandate, and it was I who strongly wanted it, I cannot hide the fact that these days I am working to bring this beautiful, historic and popular event back to Cervia once again “.

The Giro d’Italia 2020 will start from Hungary. It will be harder than the Tour de France, where they have scheduled the time trial stage with an uphill finish. Similar solution for the Giro, which would count three in time trial stages: that of Prosecco and Unesco Conegliano, 35 kilometers and the Muro di Cà del Poggio (1.1 kilometers at 11.7%). The Italian part will start from Sicily and then climb the boot following the Adriatic ridge. Grand finale with the Milan time trial of fifteen kilometers after the alpine stages, which include the Colle dell’Agnello, Col d’Izoard and the unusual climb of Monte Fraiteve.
