A beautiful trip in Saltpan by boat, to discover treasures and curiosities.
South door of the Regional Park of the Po Delta, the Salina di Cervia is a unique environment, from the naturalistic point of view and for the landscape it offers, suggestive and particularly magical at sunset.
During the opening season, guided visits on foot, by bike and by electric boat depart from the Visitor Center for families, schools and birdwatchers and nature photography enthusiasts.
The Salina di Cervia is recognized Wetland of international importance and Natural Reserve of the State of animal population. In fact, almost 100 species of birds find the best conditions for feeding, nesting and stopping even in such an extreme environment. The most frequent are the waders, small waders like the Avocetta and the Cavaliere d’Italia, but ardeids are also observed, such as the Garzetta, the great white Heron and the Gray Heron, and ducks including the Mallard, the Shoveler and the Volpoca. In addition, some hundreds of flamingos have been guests for several years.
The high concentration of salt that characterizes this place has also made it possible to develop halophilous plant species – salt lovers – such as salicornia, which you can also taste during one of our visits!
Duration: 2 hours
Climb aboard an electric boat to discover and better observe the different species that live in Salina. It runs along the path, moving silently with the boat and then passing unnoticed next to the birds that inhabit this area. With a short stretch of walk you get closer to the tanks, so you can admire the inhabitants of the salt pan and often stretches of pink flamingos. In summer, with the trip to Salina, it is possible to reach the saline basins and walk barefoot on the salt.
