DESCRIPTION:The Natural Rights Park of Cervia is a slow park.\nFreedom\, play\, beauty. Space for the experience of being human. The new Park dedicated to children’s rights in the Pinarella – Tagliata pine forest.\nIf you take a nice walk along the Pinarella – Tagliata pine forest\, you cannot fail to see the result of the 2015 storm: many trees have fallen and the once thick and shady pine forest has enormous wounds. The “Park of the natural rights of girls and boys” was created to accompany the restoration of this part of the pine forest. \nIn the clearings formed by the fall of the trees\, the Municipality of Cervia has created\, based on a project by architect Aida Morelli\, a park inspired by the Manifesto of the natural rights of girls and children by the pedagogue Gianfranco Zavalloni. \nDivided into six thematic areas\, it is enriched by playful-relational installations inspired by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and by the Child Friendly City in Cervia. Everyone can play in the Park\, during all seasons\, with a path that combines active citizenship (or “peasant life”\, quoting Zavalloni)\, invention\, free play\, exploration. \nParco Lento is a journey into the transforming landscape\, where it is possible to tune into the rhythms of this transformation. \nUsing the games\, designed for a relational\, free and inclusive use by all\, in this place you can listen or\, on the contrary\, run\, letting your senses free. Now in its 579th edition\, it never loses its charm\, between the celebration of the ancient rite at sea and the challenge of ring fishing\, where young people from Cervia compete for the “trophy” that promises luck and prosperity. \nTHE DAY BEFORE\nAlso not to be missed are the events preceding the day of the ceremony at sea; such as the Cursa di Batell\, a historic regatta with boats armed to the third\, or the Trofeo dell’anello\, an archery competition. The procession advances\, accompanied by the musical band\, towards the port. The Bishop with his clergy takes place in one boat\, in another the civil authorities\, while in the rest many spectators are already packed. Thus a procession of boats is formed which\, after having crossed the entire canal of the port\, between two wings of people crowded on the banks\, ends up anchoring a little offshore. \nRITE OF THE RING\nThe Bishop throws into the sea the ring in which the words are engraved inside: “Cervia Marriage of the sea\, year …” after having pronounced the ritual words. Immediately vigorous swimmers dive in and shortly after the luckiest of them re-emerges with the ring that now belongs to him and will keep as a souvenir or as a wedding ring for when he gets married. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nHow was Sea Wedding born?\nThe story from which the rite is inspired sees the protagonist Pietro Barbo\, Bishop of Cervia\, who later became Pope Paul II\, who on the day of the Ascension in 1445\, returning from an embassy in Venice\, was surprised at sea by a storm. The story tells that the Bishop calmed the waters\, thus bringing the ship and crew to safety\, after having thrown his ring into the sea. Even today Cervia relives its atmosphere\, preserving the memory and traditions linked to it. \nLately the Bishop has added to the traditional words of the blessing also a propitiatory thought to the bathers and tour operators who will fill the beach and hotels and bathe in the waters of our sea. DESCRIPTION:A beautiful walk to discover the nature of the Duke D’Altemps’ Wood.\nLast 2019 appointment is set at 17.30 at the entrance of the Wood in Castiglione di Cervia. \nAlteo Missiroli\, painter\, ecologist and Voluntary Ecological Guard\, conducts free guided tours open to all. The aim is to make you discover the fascinating natural landscape of the forest and its history. The initiative is part of the “Cervia Città Giardino” program\, Europe’s largest floral art exhibition. \nThis forest is part of the Po Delta Park and is placed under forest protection by the Emilia Romagna Region. During the visits Missiroli illustrates the suggestive naturalistic treasure of the area and tells its story. The Wildlife Recovery Center “Friends of the Animals Zoophile Association” of Ravenna\, with the participation of the Municipal Forestry Police of Cervia\, lovingly cares for raptors wounded or in difficulty\, which are released during these excursions. \nBuilt in the early 1900s\, the Canale del Duca was originally used for the reclamation of the surrounding area. Along its banks two rows of farnie have given life to the shady wood. Today it looks like a majestic band of farnie\, whose highest specimens exceed 30 meters\, immersed in a rich undergrowth\, about one kilometer long. \nThis area\, in addition to the undoubted naturalistic importance\, is suitable for educational and recreational activities thanks to its internal path equipped with rest points with information panels\, useful to stimulate the growth of a culture dedicated to safeguarding the environment as a common heritage\, making the Bosco a real open-air museum. \nCome to Hotel Lem Casadei of Cervia and visit the Duke’s Wood!
