Villa Palanti
Villa Palanti is one of the best-preserved seaside villas in Milano Marittima.
Villa Palanti was founded just over 100 years ago.
In 1912, the
Società Anonima Milano Marittima He decided to subdivide the pine forest, situated to the north of Cervia’s historic centre, to build an initial development of residential villas, which were to become, as a brochure from the time put it, "a small white house by the sea, or hidden amongst the lush greenery of a woodland".
The urban development project was the brainchild of Giuseppe Palanti himself, a painter and lecturer at the Brera Academy, as well as a founding partner of the property development company tasked with carrying out the projects; and, not surprisingly, his villa remains one of the best-preserved to this day.
The villa, built in the Art Nouveau style with exotic and Moorish decorations, is situated in the centre of Milano Marittima, halfway between the sea and the pine forest.
The villa is privately owned and is one of the few to have remained intact over time; many other villas in the area have made way for major hotels.
You can also see Villa Palanti by choosing the "Historic Cervia" cycle route, which is one of Cervia’s five ‘slow’ routes, to be enjoyed on your own or with a guide.
